Pours out a nice opaque black with abundant fluffy beige head. Mellow roast grain aroma, some sharp hop bitterness in the taste to accent the dark malts, but finishes fast and kind of weak.

Bottle thanks to Sean. Pours clear ruby black with a medium creamy tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is pine, caramel, toffee. Flavor is pine and dark sugars, lightly sweet, medium bitter, some resin and only a bit of roastiness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Bottled on 10/29/13, but not holding up well at all.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/30/2013. Pours nearly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, roasted malt, cocoa, toast, light coffee, light char, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hop notes with a fair amount of roasted malt balance; and decent strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, roasted malt, cocoa, toast, coffee, light char, light pine, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange/lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, roast, cocoa, toast, light coffee, light char, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of citrus hop flavors with moderate roasted malt balance; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Black IPA. Flavors seemed to lean towards a standard American IPA overall, but there was still a fair amount of roasted flavor going on. Very smooth and crisp to drink; and a very enjoyable offering.

Bomber at the Beerhive. Pours a dark almost black brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is really odd, much like rotting fruit. A dry flavor with bitter dark chocolates, some light pine. Decent. Odd.

Bomber from Malt & Vine (2011). Pours very dark brown with strong garnet glints in the sun. Beige head. Aroma is chocolate and mysterious. Seems floral. Full almost body. Flavor is chocolate and floral. Then treacle pops up. Excellent.

22 oz. bottle, split 4 ways, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small beige head. Aroma is both very roasty and hoppy, with burnt / charred roasted malts and some dark dried fruits. Flavour is fruity, roasty and hoppy - with dark dried fruits and roasted malts upfront, with the citrus hops following - not hugely hoppy though.

Bottle. Black pour with thick lasting head. Resiny and piney aroma, lingering on the nose. Full bodied, with malty roast notes amid the hoppy flavour. Hop finish
