Sample at during the Kindred "Tap Takeover at The Pint Room" event on 11/03/2017. Clear orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Aroma of ginger, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of ginger, hops, citrus and malt. The finish is herbal ginger and lime. Decent overall.

Clear peach and copper coloured body with a thinnish just off-white head. Aroma of pure ginger, caster sugar, light limes and a bit of funk - very ginger-y though for sure. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong ginger and funky deep flavours with bunches of limes and honey along with a lot of bitterness and even more medicinal flavours that are super pungent and not in a good way. Aftertaste shows lime, lemongrass, herbs, funk, malt, medicine and more ginger than you’d expect. Overall, a pretty poor offering, even for those folks who like real ginger beer and people who want this style - this simply isn’t good, which isn’t a horrible surprise, but not worth spending any portion of money on this one at all. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Wegman’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 30-January-2017 for US$6,99 sampled at my hotel room here in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on 18-May-2017.

Zupa ginger, supa bitter. Probably not good to have after a stout

Draft. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma of lime and ginger. Taste is trying to be a mixed drink but it misses.

Sampled on draft at the Pittsburgh brewpub this beer poured a dark golden color with a large creamy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was strong candied ginger. The flavor was strong candied ginger, sugar and was very spicy hot. Very long finish. Medium body. Pretty tasty!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/20/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aroma of ginger, lemon, lime, pear, apple, agave, honey, biscuit, red pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of ginger, lime, pepper, agave, bready malt, and light fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of huge ginger, lemon, lime, pear, apple, agave, honey, lightly toasted biscuit, red pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Moderate pepper/ginger spice and light tart/tangy fruit on the finish; with lingering notes of ginger, lemon, lime, pear, apple, agave, honey, biscuit, red pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness and balance of ginger, lime, pepper, agave, bready malt, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a nice malt/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from ginger/pepper spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Lightly warming 8.5%; with some increasing ginger/pepper heat after the finish, but not overwhelming. Overall this is a very good spiced imperial blonde ale. All around good robustness and balance of ginger, lime, pepper, agave, bready malt, and light fruity yeast flavors. A bit rough from the spices; but still very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Very strong on ginger/pepper spice as expected, but still has a nice malty backbone for balance. Unique beer, but still very enjoyable overall. --- Beer merged from original tick of Southern Tier Imperial Ginger Beer on 02 Feb 2017 at 21:44 - Score: 7. Original review text: Really good. Ginger/lemon/lime/pear/apple/honey/agave/biscuit/red pepper; light toast/herbal. Spicy/light tart/tangy. Bready/sticky/drying.

$3.95 bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours deep golden with a soft off-white head. Aroma is opening a jar of pickled ginger. Flavor is like drinking that ginger water from that same jar, along with some bittering lime and grasses. Interesting, but not sure this is a beer I’d actively seek out.
