Oatmeal Stout
The Industrial Revolution that forged Dayton, O was built on the backs of many. Where sweat, dirt, and pride were part of the every day. And not until that last bolt was tightened would you hear that whistle blow. Beer time. But not just any beer. One that had the backbone to live up to a real work ethic. 10 Ton Oatmeal Stout. Creamy, with hints of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and a roasted finish.

Can. A- Roasty, cocoa, faint coffee grounds. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Roasty, cocoa, mild bitterness, faint coffee. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- I don't see why this is so highly rated. I had the Irish Cream version on tap last summer and it was outstanding. This was from a can and while a solid stout, it wasn't impressive. I would expected this from any half way reputable brewery. Not bad, just wanted a lot more out of it.

Sample at Jackie O’s as part of Ohio Brew Week. Dark brown color with a medium foamy khaki head that dissipates gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, roast coffee and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a chocolatey aftertaste. Decent overall.
