Inspired by mild ales of the English railway boom, this Ruby Mild is a smooth, flavorful brew with a malty sweetness and delicate hop note. The blend of 7 malts in this malt-forward beer, including English Marris Otter, imparts a sweet note and subtle ruby color while the UK hops add a mellow bitterness.

Location: 12 oz bottle from a Spec's, 9/23/13

Aroma: The nose has some caramel malts, nutty notes, bread, and some light hops
Appearance: It pours an amber color with a small head and some decent lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same medium sweet, malty, and with a mild hoppiness
Palate: This one has a lightish body, with some decent drinkability, and a decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I thought this one was okay, but not great. A solid offering from the Sam Adams fall pack that really won't do much too impress anyone.

Light gold color. Light and drinkable enough, but overall lacking in flavor or aroma, even for the style which can have more flavor. A little high in alcohol for the style.

Clear copper with a tall mostly white head. Sweet candy malt aroma. Simple sweet caramel flavor. Decent.

12oz bottle. At 5.6% and with its heavily carbonated copper body, this sure doesn’t scream traditional mild. It makes sense in the context of the US beer world I suppose, smooth medium body, really minimal hop character. At the same time, sort of tastes like one of these Amber beers big companies try to push, albeit with a little better ingredients, general feel. It isn’t outright bad or off, just very uninspired.

12 ounce bottle from the Harvest Collection pack. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of caramel malts, nutty notes, mild hops. The taste is toasted malts, butter, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

Clear copper with a whipped, off-white head. Bready, nutty, fruit aroma. Taste is sweet, caramel, malt, slightly spicy... Slight herbal bitter. Tasty
