Inspired by mild ales of the English railway boom, this Ruby Mild is a smooth, flavorful brew with a malty sweetness and delicate hop note. The blend of 7 malts in this malt-forward beer, including English Marris Otter, imparts a sweet note and subtle ruby color while the UK hops add a mellow bitterness.

Bottle. I love malty beers. This one is really good. Reddish and clear with a light head. Like itβs name it is mild but slightly sweet in flavor. Aroma is a mild malty almost a nut like smell.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Malty with nuts and granita, and just a little bit of citrus. Very good.

Caramel coloured body with a rich ruby glow and a thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pale malt, bread, caramel, cardboard and toffee - not too great. Medium-bodied; Earthy flavour with some light nuts, cashews, caramel and a bit of yeast tucked in. Aftertaste shows some subdued sweetness from caramel and toffee, a little grape flavours and bunches of malt and nuts that really come out near the end. Overall, a decent beer, but perhaps too much subdued flavours and not enough pungency across the board. Decent to sample however and a style that I sampled more of. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Costco (Pentagon City) in Arlington, Virginia on 20-October-2013 for US$25.99/24 pack sampled at home in Washington on 10-December-2013.

12 oz bottle from the Fall Variety Pack. Aroma is toasted marshmallow, fruity esters, bread. Pours a pretty clear amber with a one finger off-white head that collapses after a minute. Nice sweet malty flavors, roasty. Highly carbonated with a creamy mouthfeel and medium body. I donβt have a lot of experience with this style, but it tastes good to me.

Orangey copper color, smallish head no lacing, not even close to ruby colored at all. Nose has caramel toffee, herbal hops, light vague fruitiness. Flavor tangy, light malts, balanced with a herbal and floral hop. Balanced, not as light as I would have expected, but its awfully strong for a mild at 5.6%, I would have to say its far more of a standard bottled ESB than anything like a mild.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-caramel color with a large foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty with a bit of sour underneath and a dark fruit presence. The flavor was tangy, sweet and malty with notes of toffee, cherry and dark fruits. Medium sweet toffee and dark fruit finish. Medium body and smooth. Pleasant.
