Gyle No. 427. In March 2016 we devoted a third of our cellar capacity to a single beer, DIPA v3. We are excited to brew it again as faithfully as we can to the original recipe. Hot side additions see the return of whole cone, new season Chinook and Citra hops, followed by an 8 g/L cold side dry hop, featuring Centennial, Citra, Mosaic, and Comet. It was fermented with WLP095 instead of the original Vermont ale yeast. 8.5% ABV

Tap at Cloudwater tap room under the rails near London bridge. Just a stunning DIPA. ticked all the boxes in terms of huge fruity aroma, good bitterness and balanced booze. No idea if this is the right dipa it was just labelled dipa. smashing

Slightly hazy amber color. Super dank apricot and rhubarb. More carbonated than a NE IPA, faded a bit. Very low carbonation. Not that interesting

16oz can pours a lightly hazy very dark orange with some spitty white head. Nose has pith, potpourri, orange, tangerine too, some unripe melon, a little papery. Flavor has mostly citrus pith, soap and potpourri, orange and tangerine. Any juicy character is gone. This strikes me as being heavy with Centennial and Citra, which most of us know if not the same hop people began raving about in the aughts. Finishes pithy, overly bitter but otherwise dry. Perhaps just a touch hot too. Honestly, a mess.
