Born Yesterday feat. fresh hops rushed from farm-to-brewery in under 24 hrs!

If we could bottle the smell of harvest time in Yakima Valley, WA, we would. Hell, we try every year! Today we get the next best thing: Born Yesterday. See, once hops are harvested, the flavor clock starts ticking’. So we rush a select bunch of whole-cone ‘wet’ hops on refrigerated trucks straight to Lagunitas. In less than 24hrs they arrive and immediately drop into this brew via a stoopid custom-built contraption, injecting all their precious aromatics. Special delivery indeed. Congratulations, it’s a beer!

Tap the bloomsbury lanes on a work night out. A whole pint. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is lovely juicy citrus tropical peach, and pine. Soft bready malts. Flavour is composed of raw bready grains, juicy tropical fruits, stone fruit, mango, and pine in the finish. Palate is sticky, medium carbonation,. Super drinkable. Very well balanced.

Draft at RnH. Murky golden color, off white head that coats the glass in lace. Grapefruit and pine. Bit of caramel. Flavor is along the same lines. Relatively dry, clean, and easy drinking. Softer carbonation. Quite nice.

Tap at Euston Tap West. It pours turbid golden - orange with a small white head. The aroma is quite fresh, very ripe stone fruit, peach, nectarine, mango smoothie, green, weedy, onion, chive, pine needles and candy. The taste is crisp, decent hit of bitterness, filthy green, weedy, dank, ripe peachy, pithy, nectarine, straw, floury white bread, light spice and cracker with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Rather nice.

Sample at Local Cantina Grandview during the Taco Tuesday & Speaking Suds with Lagunitas event on 05/16/2017. Hazy bright orange color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of dank hops, grapefruit and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop and citrus aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/5/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, guava, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, guava, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, guava, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a world class IPA! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the balanced bitter/drying finish. Super vibrant, dank, and juicy on hops; with a nice malt backbone that is never sweet. An insanely amazing offering. Just as impressive as the regular Born Yesterday all around.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold color topped by a small frothy white head. Amazingly fragrant spicy tropical fruit hop nose. First sip is tart lemony malt balanced by bittersweet hops. Mango, melon, tangerine, pine needles and dank citrus. Warming alcohol in finish. Chewy aftertaste. Outstanding!
