First released December 2018 on Keg, cask and canned. Earlier this year we released De La Nut Hazelnut Milk Stout and everyone went mad for it! Well, it’s back, it’s bigger, boozier, and even nuttier than before! a hazelnut milk stout. Smooth and creamy from added lactose sugar. Expect sweet chocolate, caramel flavours, finished off with a decadent nutty edge from real hazelnuts.

Can from the brewery. Appearance - deep brown to black. Slightly off-white head. Nose - aromas of hazelnut, peanut and creamy milk chocolate. Taste - hazelnuts again, roastiness, creamer chocolate, but like the regular strength version, much drier than the nose. Palate - light to medium bodied, again like the regularly strengthed version, not as creamy and sweet as expected. Dry, roasty finish. Overall - ok, not as exciting as the nose implied, though more intense than the regular version!

440ml can - Pours a deep dark brown to black colour with an average sized mostly lasting beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, milk chocolate and hazelnuts. A moderately sweet to sweet taste, sweet roasted malts, drinking chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut flavours with a drying bitter roasted finish. Very good.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, nutty, creamy lactose. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, fake sugar, creamy, red berry fruit palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg at Mad Squirrel, Wycombe. Black with a beige head. Fake chocolate syrup dominates this beer. Yes, there's some hazelnut syrup as well, but it's all too sweet and fake. Sorry to go against the grain here, but I wasn't the biggest fan of this. On the plus side, a somewhat delayed Mike arrived at this point. Hi Mike.

Keg at Mad Squirrel bar/shop, Amersham, Bucks. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate hazelnut aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, hazelnut. Very nice indeed and easily the best beer that I've had from Mad Squirrel to date.
