Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head but good lacing. There’s an aroma of milk chocolate and malts here, which continues in the mouth. Texture starts off rather thin and watery, but beefs up after a while when liquorice and humbug flavours start to appear. The liquorice wins out in the finis. It’s OK.

Black with red hue and thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of bittersweet roasted malts and light chocolate. Rich and full bodied.

Cask @ Mold Alehouse. Pours dark brown, tan head. Some light chocolate, dark malt on the nose. Medium to light bodied, some light milk chocolate, lactose, dark malt, faint roast with a light sweet character. Decent.
