75cl bottle from Carrefour, shared with Soph. Pours clear gold with a persistent white ring of foam. Aroma brings familiarly comforting lightly stewed French sweet apple fruit, not really much oak. Taste is stewed apple fruit, with curious calvados-tinged oak flavours, some alcohol, vanilla, caramel, burnt brown sugar. Fine carbonation. Interesting depths of flavours. Great to see French cider makers experimenting with barrel ageing.
