Once finished, the fruit wine was separated from the pulp & stones and sweetened with our classic Somerset keeved cider. Our friends at Wild Beer brought lees from a sour beer and peat smoked Laphroaig barrels.
After three months in barrel, we present a smokey, sweet, sour, tart, fruity, astringent cider-wine-beer.

Keg at IMBC '19, session 2, 04/10/19. Clear golden with a decent white cap as ciders go. Nose is apples, grass, good smoked layer, plums, damson rot. Taste comprises straw, apple skins, balanced smoke, light ashen tones, hint of bonfire, plum, light funk. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Interesting stuff … wouldn't want a whole load of it but drinks well for the mash up.

Keg at the indy man beer con. 2019. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a frothy fine white head. Aroma is dry and earthy, smoke, phenol medicinal.. Flavour is composed of dry and crisp, semi sweet medicinal, tcp, semi sweet, apple, plum, tcp lingering. Weird. Palate is semi sweet z frothy dry. Ok.

375ml bottle. Pours a comforting hazy gold, nose brings unmistakable Laphroaig notes, though thankfully quite gentle. Taste is complex, smokey, tightened by a firm astringency. Would've liked more of a plummy influence, which is sadly lacking but the smokey character is refreshingly different.
