hazy orange to amber colour, medium sized off-white head; aroma of sweat, grainy, some grape, toffee, herbal and boiled vegetables notes; bittery taste with similar notes to the aroma and slight apple peel; not really convincing tripel...well, in fact, one of the worst tripels I've ever tasted...

330ml bottle from a wine shop in Evian. Pours a misty pale gold, small white head. Aroma of soft pale malt, light yeast. Not exactly an abbey tripel in character, more like a standard French blonde, soft malts, moderately yeasty, medium body. Average.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, straw, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, fruit, and a bit of straw, leading to a dry finish.

La chope de lug, lyon bottle: pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is mostly correct for a tripel but the taste and body is not. Taste is sugary and kind of minerally. Some alcohol. Body has low carbonation. Not a good tripel.

Bottle from S’Beer, Ferney-Voltaire; bb 17/06/16
Hazy golden color, small but persistent head. Mild aroma of Belgian yeast. Too much carbonation, rather dry, very light notable flavors, with a hint of vegetables and spices. Correct bitterness.
Nothing special.
