Made in the heart of Bavaria using natural mineral water and locally grown barley and hops, our new Hofmeister Helles Lager is slow-brewed colder and longer than most other beers today. That’s because we believe all the extra time and effort is well worth it. And when you try our fresher, subtly hoppy and gently carbonated Helles, we think you will too.

Brewed by Schweiger. Sometimes even the Germans disappoint...

Only a quid from Eltham Wines! Gold pour with a white head. Nose is sweet fruits, - banana in particular, touch of tropical fruit. Taste is banana, yellow melon, vanilla, touch of apricot. Spicy fruity action with a light bitter backbone. Very quaffable.

Have to admit that I don't get the branding - why create a fake German beer when there are so many available in UK supermarkets? Anyhow, clear, yellow (slightly dark) pour, aromas of white bread, malt, very little hops, tase pretty much the same with a sweetish aftertaste. Quite flat overall.

Bottle from drink supermarket. It pours clear lager yellow with an ok white head. The aroma is sweet, grainy, grassy, hay, custard creams, buttered white bread and nip of spice. The taste is crisp, dry initially, then it's bitter - sweet, grassy sting, straw, hay, grain, biscuit, custard creams, lemon curd, doughy white bread, cereal and spice with a dry finish. Average body and moderate+ carbonation. It's pretty ok for a lagerbier. Love the old advert which is why I couldn't help but purchase it. Quenching when cold anyhow.

Bottled 330ml (Alko web)
Golden colour, tiny white head. Grainy, papery nose. Light-bodied. Flavour is similar: grainy and a bit papery. Crisp. Probably ok Sauna drink but otherwise below average Helles.

Bottle from Vine King, Weybridge. Sour citrus aroma with underlying sweet grain and cardboard. Light gold. Small bubbles. Foamy white head. Initial light sweetness before some sourness sweeps in. Metalic streak. Light bodied. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish - unappealing aftertaste.
