Made in the heart of Bavaria using natural mineral water and locally grown barley and hops, our new Hofmeister Helles Lager is slow-brewed colder and longer than most other beers today. That’s because we believe all the extra time and effort is well worth it. And when you try our fresher, subtly hoppy and gently carbonated Helles, we think you will too.

330ml bottle, thanks to Grumbo. Pours a almost clear golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of banana, grass, herbs & biscuit malt. Medium body. Crisp light bitter finish. Enjoyable without been anything out of the ordinary

Pint at Paramo Lounge, Solihull. Clear gold with decent sized white head - certainly looks the part. Sadly it turned out to be quite mediocre. Very bread and sweet malt noted and very few notable hops even by Helles standards - maybe a slight dry grassiness in the finish. Decent smooth body though which goes down easily.

Keg @ Northern Crafthouse, Whitefield. Clear golden with a head. Lower-grade helles, with some bubble-gum aroma, dull taste. Pretty carbonated bubbles.

Keg at Arturo Lounge, Penrith. Pale yellowy gold, white head, rather fizzy. A touch of butter, a little lemon, a wisp of grass. It's poor, but it's still significantly better than the Cruzcampo I had just before.

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Crystal clear, yellow-ish, golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy and minimally bready, pale malty aroma, a touch of corn. Taste is slightly grainy, minimally strawy, pale malty with some residual sweetness, mildly bitter, hoppy counterpart with weak soapy overtones. Watery texture with an oily strand, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Very clean, simeple and monotonous - so-so.

Brewed by Schweiger. Sometimes even the Germans disappoint...
