Varieties used : Plants de Blanc, Fosset, Poire de Cloche, Mordouet. Our Poiré is made in the respect of artisanal process making methods:
first the pears are picked up to the right maturation manually or mechanically washed
crushed
the pulp is put into a vat open air to release its aroma
the pulp is then pressed
clarification of the most
slow alcoholic fermentation (1 to 3 months) bottling
storage in refrigerated cellars (10 to 12°C)
TASTING
Beautiful pale yellow colour, thin bubbles. Smelling : very fruity
Tasting : refreshing
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
The Poiré must be consumed fresh (between 8 and 10°C) and preferably in « ballon » or « tulipe » glasses.
Poiré is a sweet and refreshing product. It is usually served :
● as an aperitif alone or as a “kir normand” (with Crème de Cassis).
● with fruit desserts as the apple pie (ideally with sweet fruits).
PRESERVATION
With optimal preservation conditions (around 10°C and upright stocking), the Poiré can be kept between 1 and 2 years.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head that goes down quickly. Aroma is big sweet pears, vanilla, super tempting, dash of minerals. Taste is juicy pears, lieblich in its sweetness, again dash of minerals, champenoise carbonation, semi-dry finish. A bit sweeter than the best examples, but just tasty - and at only 2%!

750mL bottle, pours a clear bright golden with a tiny head. Aroma brings out gently sweet pears and light champagne-like effervescence. Flavour is moderately sweet, with bright pears, light champagne effervescence, and a hint of hugs. Light, sweet but sorta complex. Good stuff.

Bottle at THT January. Bit hazy pale straw with not much head. Sweet and tart pear, soft funk, light flowery, white grapes. Mostly pear. Medium sweet and under medium sour. Medium bodied with sparkly carbonation. Lovely.

75cl bottle from madeincalvados.com. Pours clear golden yellow. Aroma presents prominent medium-sweet perry pear fruit. Spritzy on the palate with smooth, lightly sticky, sweet perry fruit with hints of honey. Clean drinking with a slowly drying finish. Decent.

Bottled. A light yellow perry. The aroma has notes of pears and vinegar. The flavor is acidic with an underlying sweetness with notes of pear and vinegar, leading to a tart finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours clear with no head - a vague tint of green. Lightly sweet, authentic pear aroma. Light body, a little cork, a good sparkle, tart perry accents, a little salty. Fresh alright. 180311
