(Cask at Southampton Arms, London) A below average brown ale. There were no flaws but I was hoping something more. Perhaps bit more roastedness and some molasses would have done the thing. Now, the beer was an bit unbalanced combination of sweetness and malts.

12th November 2008. Clear brown beer. Low carbonation. A little dusty. Lightly tangy nutty malt. Not much hoppy fruit but slightly bitter aftertaste. Nothing special unfortunately!

Cask at Crosse Keys Spoons. Pale chestnut, lasting thin ivory head. Perfumed aroma. Some dry/choc malt in mouth. Bit of bleachy aicdity is off putting. OK stab at a brown ale. Some dryness on finish. 2.4/5.0 re rate jdw ashford 22092011. its better. Still not great but not the bleach i had before

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol, 16/10/07. Chestnut with a slight, off-white head. A decent brown ale with a sweet malt aroma followed by a nutty flavour and a bitter finish. Good.
