The Brewery’s home in stunning Shropshire is nestled in a county full of rich brewing history. Shropshire Hop celebrates the pride we hold for our county, especially as the most prized ingredient in all our brews is our Shropshire Pure Mineral Water.
Shropshire Hop is a 4.3% powerfully hopped golden ale, aromatic and zesty. With a good depth of malt character, achieved by using a blend of four English grown malts. Dominated by a blend of English, American and New Zealand hops, creating a crescendo of satisfying bitterness, underpinned by pleasing floral notes.

Cask half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates Shropshire on 19th Sep 2016. Golden pour, white head with lacing. Barnyard esters at first, thought it might be ’off’, the smell subsided and a light malty aroma arrived, followed by some mild citrus notes. Taste changed also, again I detected farmyards before the hops kicked in: actually apart from the ’manure traces’ I thought it fairly bland, so it’s ’off-ness’ made it interesting!

Cask @ The Dolphin, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold with a white creamy head. Smooth, lightly sweet bready malt / lemon hop character with a light bitterness. Tastes just like a bland Joules golden ale. Expected more of the American NZ hops rumoured to be present. Confusingly no Shropshire hops used.
