Not your traditional Danish Xmas ale but a crisp, dry and bitter west coast IPA with a bit orange peel to give that warm and cozy holiday spirit. Hops are Tomahawk, Simcoe and Centennial; unfiltered and unpasteurized.

Medium white head. Hazy yellow body. Tropical fruity eucalyptus and citrus aroma, totally dominated by hops. Dry-bitter tropical fruity resiny mango taste. Mid-bodied. Bitter chalky resiny grassy fruity aftertaste. Nice, but a bit old. (0.5l bottle, Ølbutikken, Copenhagen.)

Cellared properly at home for almost seven months after I bought a 500ml bottle at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen in May. Slightly foggy, golden body. Thick beige head with a solid foam stand, blanketing the glass. Inviting succulent, floral-hop aromas to the nose. Rich taste of pine needles and plenty of sappy oranges. Great rounded and long-lived finish of dry bitterness. Well made. Festive ale for all seasons (On the second day of Christmas, Tromsø 26.12.2009).

Cloudy, orange beer with weak and white head. Aroma is fullfilled with exotic fruits, grapefruits, fructose and hint of glue. Sweet fruits, grapefuit, hint of pine needles, some glue, medium bitterness and in the end the flavour turns into dry and long hoppy bitterness. Slippery and pleasant to drink. This is beer for hopheads but still beer is overally balanced with nice body, sweetness and hops.

Bottle. Poured a gold amber with an off-white head. Aroma was full of citrus and floral hops with a bit of caramel. Flavor began with a bit of sweet caramel but the hops quickly take over leading to a grapefruit flavor. Don’t know what its an xmas IPA but not a bad beer.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It’s a hazy, orange-golden beer with a dense, finger-thick beige head. Oranges, peaches and a sweetish hint in the aroma. The flavor has a sweet, malty backbone, and peachy, orangey and piney hops to support it. Full-bodied. The finish has a nice bitterness, and resiny and fruity flavors. Except for the orange flavor and aroma there’s not much Christmasy with this one, but it’s a really good one. 090619

(Bottle, purchased at Ölbutikken, Copenhagen) Hazy, amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with orange, grapefruit and dried apricots. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, orange peel, pine needles and resin in a long, bitter finish. Bitterness actually grows with time. Slightly above medium body, balanced sweetness. Lovely IPA with a fantastic hop character nicely balanced with a solid malt foundation. Well crafted.

Tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival 09. Hazy yellow color, medium white head. Fresh hoppy aroma. Bitter taste, fresh, clean hop juice. Quite harsh, but very nice.
