At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly fizzy dark brown head, opaque very dark brown color, aroma of chocolate, cherries and plums, same traits in flavor with a chocolaty bitterness in the back, and a pleasant warming alcoholic sensation. Original and highly enjoyable, excellent balanced desert beer.

Death, or glory ? both beers are packaged very awesome. I like the names, I like the looks, I like the styles. I drank glory already, and that was crazy good. Safe to say, expectations are sky high for this one! Pours black, with a minor reddish glow. Small, not very stable tanned head. Smell is roasty, black malts, bit ashy, hidden chocolatyness. Taste is thick, rich, intense. Very hoppy for the style, the green-hoppyness shines trough. Alcoholis ( to much alcohol. Fusel alcohol ? ) making the result unnaturally boozy. The mouthfeel is thick, but not super thick. Carbonation is low-average, which is higher for what I liek in this style. Roasty, tad ashy, hidden chocolate. Not nearly the same level of quality as Glory was, but a decent beer all together.

On tap at BeerMerchants Tap Hackney. Black beer lasting tan head. Big thick dark chocolate aroma and roasted malt. Big rich dark chocolate flavour with a little dark cherry and blackcurrant jam. Some dryness on the finish. Hides abv well with just a little warmth on the finish. Malty. Very easy drinking. Which is dangerous.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham and shared with the KL Tasting Crew. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken light tan head. The aroma is earthy roasty malt, charcoal, liquorice, light coffee, some light fruity notes. The flavour is moderate sweet, liqouirce bitter with a smooth, rich, dry roasty, big liquorice, dry coffee, dry hop bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation.

440 ml. can sampled + shared @ RBBWG VI (2018). Black, no head basically. Nose is too soy sauce, dull plastic chocolate. Lacks complexity with dull mocha, roast, soy sauce, empty, grain, mocha. Weak for an RIS but still fair beer.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: super roasted, very malty, grains. MF: pretty lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of chocolate, bitter, very roasted, little sweet, some alcohol burning. Aftertaste: very roasted, sugary, some caramel, mocha, pretty bitter finish.

F: big, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: roasted tones, citrus, blackcurrant, bit herbal, vinous, coffee. T: roasted tones, coffee, vinous, red currants, chocolate, cocoa, black berries, alcohol is quite prominent, plums, not very complex but still enjoyable for me, medium to full body, low to medium carbonation, 44cl can from Malting pot in Brussels.
