Bottle split at the Level 6 Xmas Bash, thanks to Tipple, 15/12/22. Black with a tan head. Nose is dark malts, charr, dried fruit rinds, good bourbon oak, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate shavings, coffee, spice, toffee, fruit cake mix, balanced barrel. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid.

28.12.2023. Bottle at BBT 12/2023. Full body, med-light carbonation. Med-high bitterness, med-high warmth, but overall alcohol well managed, warmth rather soft. Lots of bourbony caramelly character, light vanilla and coconut. Very tasty, very good. 8,2.

Med-high caramelly, dried fruits, plum, honeyish. Med cocoa, light coffee. Lacks stoutish roast. Med bourbony barrel. Worthy sipper, nice, a bit too warm n unstouty. 8,0.

Bottle @ BBT 12/2023 F: medium, tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: malty, dark malts, chocolate, woody, whisky, dark berries. T: full malty base, rich chocolate, coffee, cocoa, vinous, berries, dried fruits, nice balanced bitterness, very nice, fully enjoyed.

BBT 12/2023. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, nougat.. Taste is very powerful with nougat, chocolate, dark malt, very light caramel. Nice.

Draught at Beer Temple, 12/1/23. Clear, dark maroon-mahogany. Dark beige head sits at spotty cover. Rich bourbon, strong barrel/wood, lots of bread and caramel. Probably getting to the oxidized point since this is filtered and pasteurized. Caramel, spice, nutty rye, light vanilla, lots of barrel tannin and strong whiskey. Geeze, were all their releases this barrel forward circa 2019?! This is acidic and bready/nutty and hard to drink. As such, I have dumped it in the bathroom sink.

Bottle from Goose Island Taproom, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out spicy rye, medium roast, and bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich and spicy, with intense rye barrels, medium roast, and big bourbon. Robust, elegant and cohesive. Wonderful.
