This is the beer our Beerfarm regulars look forward to as the cooler months close in. A rich and rounded milk stout with all the bitter chocolate and coffee flavours you’d expect. We’ve added milk sugar (lactose) to give it a velvety texture and probably a few more hops than usual in the style; a forgivable sin surely.

12/10/2022. Can from Beer Cartel. Pours black with a short lasting frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, mild roasted malt, caramel, vanilla, lactose, coffee, dark fruits. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness with a tart berry edge developing. Moderate body, smooth but a little watery for its abv, fairly fizzy initially. Started nicely with a good aroma but faded a bit.

Can, 5.5% ABV. Black with a good inch of light tan head that fades to less than a coat fairly soon. 3+ Mocha aroma - more chocolate and brioche than coffee - some weeds and spices. Smooth textured - you'd guess lactose from the feel but it's not obvious in the taste, despite the sweetness. Some licorice and roast in with the dark malt. The coffee is a little more prominent. There is enough weedy bitterness to tidy up at the end but not so much to distract from the soothing dark malty things. Not fancy, just good.

330ml can from Gavel, KL. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, liqourice, charcoal, light chocolate and subtle lactose. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, light liqourice bitter, with a dry roasty, liqourice, coffee chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
