Re-used Hertog-Jan bottle at home. Pours slightly hazy dark amber / pale brown with proper creamy white head. Sweet caramel malts, some bread crust, chestnuts, leather and soft floral hoppiness and some fine sandy salty liquorice candy (Lakrisal), sugarcane. Fairly sweet and a proper firm bitterness that drapes wide over the tongue, hint of salt in the back. Quite a decent body. Sand-muddy mouthfeel with a soft fine chalky finish. Very nice mouthfeel to be honest, and a great beer to drink. I just opened a second bottle, ("because I can" 🤪) because the first one was finished before I was done enjoying it. It's only after a while that I notice a distant hint of alcohol and strawberries. Still a great beer.
