Super smooth but not too sweet or boozey. Not easy at 11%! Almost as good as a Rochefort. Now one of my fave dark Belgian beers.

Rødbrun tåkete med beige skum. Lukter lys karamell, noe belgisk gjær og brunet smør. Fyldig. Søt. Smaker fløtekaramell, alkohol, rosiner og noe trevirke. Middels lang.

Servida en cáliz, color marrón oscuro, tonos rojizos al trasluz, espuma beige claro bien retenida. En nariz cautivador aroma a malta tostada con notas de café, ciruelas pasas, cacao, frutos negros, levadura, caramelo... En boca entra cálida y licorosa, desplegando de inmediato notas tanto dulces como ligeramente torrefactas, la textura es sedosa. Se disfruta a trago corto y pausado y ofrece notas de chocolate, café, ciruelas pasas, pan negro, ligero toque de regaliz, algo de bizcocho de cacao, y un fondo muy licoroso. El final es ligeramente amargo y seco, muy embriagador. Deliciosa y apacible, muy buena.

33cl Fles van AH. Bruine kleur, beige kraag. Rozijnen, vijgen, caramel, rijp donker fruit, Madeira, licht kruidig, volzoet en ook bitter, romig, volle body. Zeer smakelijk.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11%. Deep brown colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar syrup, mild spices and dark dried fruits. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, a hint of anise. Low bitterness.

Bottle, labelled Quadrupel (bb 1/25). Would have gushed if not poured promptly. Dark chestnut with a lasting cm dense pale beige head that lasts really well. 4+ Aroma of stewed and leathery dried fruit, bun dough, some lightening citrus, spices. Fullish bodied. Rich, fruity and boozy but with enough of a nip of citrus, spice and bitterness to make it a dangerously fun drinker.

Bottle at home. Two year old. Pours a dark brown colour with a big beige head. Aroma of dates, rye bread, caramel, oat crackers, juniper berries, and cloves. Flavour of leather, raisins, licorice, nuts, bread crust and warming alcohol in the end. Caramel in the background. Has a slick mouth feel, full-bodied and a soft bitterness. Rich and malty with sweet undertones.
