First batch was an Insight Brewing Collab. Sour'ire de Mortagne with peaches we smoke ourself added to the barrels. Fermented with our own wild house yeast strain 'Morpheus'.

Tap. Murky orange color with small white ring. Aroma is peach, boozy, a bit smoky. Taste is peach, raisins, oak sugar(?). Low carbonation. Quite nice considering its weirdness.

23/IX/16 - on tap @ Borefts Bier Festival - BB: n/a (2016-1028) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today's beers!
Pretty cloudy deep amber to reddish brown beer, small aery head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very smoky, almost peated, sweet, caramel, dried fruits, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start very fruity, lots of peaches indeed, sharp acidity, very smoky. Aftertaste: some tannins, very dry, fruity. I like this stuff, as unsubtle as it might be. :p

@ Lambic and Sour Ale Sunday. Hazy orange colour, white foam. Very intense aroma of peach, pickles, smoked meat, sour unripe fruit, sweet balsamic vinegar. Very strange but not bad at all. Syrupy mouth feel. Bit alcoholic.

At 1st Lambic & Sour Sunday at Bierhalle Deconinck in Vichte. Strong smoked fruit beer (a first for me), collab with Insight Brewing, an one-off apparently. Tightly ’papery’ lacing, egg-white head, cloudy pale bronze robe with brownish hue. Rich and layered aroma of smoked bacon, hay, strawberry, bread, pickled apricot, peach, hint lemon zest. Fruity onset, sweetish peach but an impression of strawberry as well, umami hint of pickled lemon somewhere, medium carbo, bready malt core, sweetish with sherryish and genuine fruit tartness on top blending with the smoked bacon effect of the smoked malt, bit meaty in the end, complex with warming, gin-like alcohol, long and drying. Very idiosyncratic, never thought the tartness of a ’real’ fruit beer would match this well with the bacon aspects of smoked malts, this is surprisingly beautiful. Also tasted from tap at Hedonis Ambachtsfest in September 2017 under another name (Sourire de Mortagne Smoked Peaches) and still just as good as I remembered. Unique.
