Draft tasting glass @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Black, little in the way of head. Nose is massive peat but not just peat, I get some actual Islay whiskey here, Lagavulin, very thick soy sauce RIS but you get the actual whisky instead of some heavy random peat as happens. Taste is massive peat, harsh iodine, once again some actual Islay / Lagavulin instead of heavy random peat, actual whisky but also sugar, soy sauce, low soap, peat, some seaweed here, heavy soy sauce & peat. Body is thick soy sauce. Almost overkill but tasty and interesting very heavy soy sauce & Islay down to actual whisky in it, clear good Islay instead of random heavy peat. Massive, ridiculous but this actually appeals to me unlike some other stuff of its kind. Still not my favourite version of Aupa Tovarish.
Drunk at Rock and Beer. Barrel-aging is stunning. Drinks crazy. Thanks Thomas for the tick.

###revisada 25..01..2017 tras tomar botella 33 cl aupa tovarich... Tal vez se merece subir 0.2###

Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. Specially bottles for Zeebra 2015. Aroma of peat, coffee and roasted malt. Taste is a nice combination of peated whiskey, some smoke, coffee, roasted malt and subtle bitters. Good RIS.

Bottle @ Zeebra 2015, small sample. Dark color, short frothy head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, bit chocolate, soft peaty whisky. Peat is not overpowering, which is good for me. Slight sweet in taste, roasty bitterness, slight dry peat. Good stuff.

Lagavulin barrel aged edition of Aupa Tovarisch, tasted at ACBF. Looks the same as the regular version, dense deep beige head over a black beer, and has the same delightful candied fruits, roasted coffee beans, pure chocolate and spicy notes in the aroma; the same sweet and rich onset, dates, espresso-like roasted bitterness paired with a deep bitter chocolate character, liquorice touch, thick and even more vinous mouthfeel than the regular, with a clear yet not too obnoxious presence of woody tannins and the Lagavulin single malt booziness in the finish. Probably the best Spanish beer I had so far...

Bottle sample @ ACBF 2015.
