India Pale Ale is one great traveller. This strong, hoppy beer was exported from England to India in the 18th century. Over time, exports decreased and, by the middle of the last century, this extraordinary beer style was in decline. In the 1980s, however, IPA was revived by American craft brewers and was reborn stronger, hoppier and is now more popular than ever. Rumours about this magnificent beer also made it to Europe and so the prodigal son made it back home.

Tap at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is clear light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, grape, some citrus, hops and malts. Slightly better than average IPA.

Bottle. Strange IPA with a dull, dark feel to it. Malty, grainy and a bit messy. Notes of grapefruit and orange cest.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Strong malty aroma, creamy caramel and toffee. Taste: strong caramel sweetness, as well as big bitterness, pungent, zesty and resiny. Good.

330ml Bottle (MS Isabelle) - Hazy amber/copper in colour. Pine, caramel, apricot and grapefruit in the aroma. Hoppy, fruity and slightly sweet taste with sultanas, grapefruit, pine and peach.

Bottled@HBF2016. Orangeish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, wooden and some sprucelike notes. Flavour is pine, some fruits, floral, nectary and honeyish notes with some bready malts and also sweet malts to it. Long bittery aftertaste.

Tap at Drink Bar, Tallinn. Amber color, good cloudy white head, lace. Citrus, grassy aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Grassy, citrusy with some gooseberry. Some unclean notes. Don’t know if its unclean tap or something else. Simple ipa.

Klare dunkel goldene Farbe, mittelgroße weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr grasig hopfig, dezent bitter, frisch. Geschmack sehr hopfig, floral grasig bitter, helles Malz, gut!
