Gouden Carolus Indulgence [Indulgence, something that is done or enjoyed as a special pleasure] is a limited series of beers brewed every year with varying content. These ‘Indulgence’ brews are exclusive delights to be savoured at special moments or shared with special people.
Botanik is the 3rd taste expression released under this label. A special blond beer was brewed using barley and wheat for this purpose. A selection of 4 natural botanicals was added during the ageing process: elderflower, angelica root, cloves and rosemary. A pleasantly surprising bouquet!

Taste lively carbonation, a huge amount of herbs, i tasted like the complete herb garden was added to the brew, medium body, lots of carbo, damn i really don't like this...

750 ml. bottle shared @ ZZT 2017. Hazy golden, orange, creamy white head. Nose is big BE spice, almost medicinal in a way, botanical, hard to pinpoint. High carbonation, bitter esters. Taste is lively interesting medicinal roots, flowers, cloves, galangal, lots of spice, hard to pinpoint, big spice, BE esters, lively interesting, garden spices,… Works surprisingly well, wonder how a G&T with this would taste like.

Bottle @ ZZT 2017. Hazy pale yellow color, average sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, herbal / spicy, a bit sweet and a bit bitter. Decent and better than expected.

Bottle shared at ZZT. Hazy light golden with white head. Massive sage, sweet malts, light minerals, a bit of marzipan, lots and lots of herbs, light alcohol, light bready. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with lots of fizzy carbonation. Very very herbal.

Huge, stable, dense & fine just yellowish head, overlaying hazy yellow beer with a mossy sheen. Lavender, and absinthe/wormwood, rosemary - very strongly. And because I know, clove. Bitterish, again absinthe and rosemary, lavender, but sweeter than expected. Creamy MF, some astringency from the herbs, medium to well-bodied. What I held for wormwood is no doubt the angelica. It's... interesting... 6/4/6/3/13 Thx to Stef!
