30/12/2011 33cl bottle from Smetje en Zoon (Nevele) @ home - BB: no markings on the side of the label to indicate a date (2011-743)
Clear red brown beer, big creamy light beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet caramel, fudge, dirty malts, very ripe to rotten fruits (plums), a bit sour, reminds me of vomit, though just a little bit. Not sure if infection or intentional. MF: quite some carbon, light to medium body. Taste: a lot of toasted to even roasted malts, caramel, nuts, mocha flavours, but also a weird sourish touch. Still thinking about infection, but as this is supposed to represent an "old style" beer, it could be intentional. Aftertaste: bitter hops, coffee, ripe to rotten fruits.
