Is the Anglo-Saxon type of beer rich in aromatic and bitter hops, for those who prefer beers with special character. With impressive intensity and unforgetable taste.

33cl bottle @Athens Craft Beer Expo (Zythognosia), during a beer+food pairing workshop. Was paired with pork pancetta marinated in malt extract. Pours clear orange with small white head and fair lacing, too light bodied for an IPA. Cookie, sour orange and caramel on the tongue, some smoky aromas, like roasted barley but too many hops (mainly orange peel, citrus) leave a heavily bitter aftertaste that covers everything. I’d expect it to be more aromatic, since hops totally take over. Mediocre palette, hints of minerals, floral and herbs. Nothing memorable, but I have to admit, it was fairly paired with the plate. Had the organizers chosen a better IPA, the pairing would have been mind exploding.
