Cannabis Sativa is the closest relative of hops. Their genetic code is so similar that breeders joke that if you graft a hemp plant onto a hops plant, it will go to heaven. So it's not surprising that when hops were scarce, hemp blossoms were the perfect substitute for hops. What prompted us to use hemp instead of hops was not scarcity, but rather the general oversupply of hops and the desire to prove that it is not only hops that make beer fascinating. For this beer, we used not only hemp flowers as a substitute for hops, but also roasted hemp seeds, which were the perfect substitute for roasted malt.

Can, shared with Finn at Šnekutis (Šv Mikolajus). Decent white head, spotty lacing, fair lacing. Inviting on the nose with ripe fruits and caramel malts. Quite similar taste of grass, caramel malts, and grain. Mid-sweet endnotes. Medium bodied. Decent. (Vilnius, 10.11.2025).

50cl bottle from Dundulis webshop. Pours hazy amber with a medium sized, off-white head. Malty and herbal aroma with bready notes, and hints of caramel and butter. Moderate to medium sweet with medium to low flavour intensity and fairly low bitterness. Carbonation is a bit lively, but not too disturbing. Fairly drinkable.

500 ml. bottle @ Bambalyne – Vilnius. 05/07/2018. Orange hazy. Nose is sweet oily spice, low medicinal, sugar & huge hemp, far more rich and flavourful than hemp seeds. Taste is massively oily hemp, spice, hop, oily, caramel, flowers, love that hemp oil, thick oily caramel, flowers, help, adore that profile, def. my favourite Dundulis so far.

On tap at �punka, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out light hemp, with light oiliness. Flavour brings out lots of hemp, pot oils, and sweet cereal malt. Pretty decent incorporation of the hemp. Not bad.
