Small cream-coloured head, fed by lazy pearling in a hazy amber-brown beer. Sweet, syrupy molasses' nose, bit gassy. Caramel & toffee, even treacle. Oxidized hops, overripe banana. Quite bitter, roasted caramel, with syrup & molasses in the background. Dried and candied fruit as dates, figs, prunes, apricots. Higher alcohols, overripe banana. Fully syrupy feel, despite some carbonation. Alcoholheat; chewy and viscous. Ah, the temptation to overdo things. Has nothing to do with IPA, anymore. Label misses contents (!?), as I was thinking that 25cl would have sufficed. As probably 12-13%. Oh, well.

Bottle shared at the Columbus tasting 16/01/2020. Many thanks to Ken the elder. A light hazed deep amber coloured pour with a fine beige head. Aroma, medium sweet, brandy snap sugars, toffee, hint of booze, light jammy fruits. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, bitter wood, light spicy nutmeg, boozey fruit cake, bitter booze, shortcake. Palate is medium sweet, booze, alcohol, . Little harsh in the finish.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Kenneth. Pours clear copper with a creamy, off-white head. Unsurprisingly hearty, fairly sweet, some molasses, bitter citrus peel. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm-hot finish, more molasses, toasted caramel, pine, peel. So so.

20th January 2020 Level 6 bottleshare. Light haze on this amber colour beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, mildly bitter caramel. Mild spice. Bitterish fruit liqueur. Little citric peel. Spicy bitterish finish. Tangy bitter linger. Drinks easy but not hoppy enough.3.5

18% version on keg at 'If It Ain't Dutch ..'. Clear amber beer, decent pale tan head. Smooth palate, inevitably, slightly viscous. Good fine minerally carbonation. Soft malts, a little creamy sweetness. Fair dose of bitterish savoury toffee. Ripe fruits, some prune and date. Smooth piney hops and a touch of bitterish dark marmalade on the smooth finish which also bring a fair amount of boozy spice. Nice. Rich but pretty drinkable but also crying out for some liberal dry hopping.

Bottle. Brown color, caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor with grass, dried red and orange fruit. Warming alcohol, a bit too much.
