Bottle at THT February. Clear dark golden with white head. Caramel, cardboard, seaweed, toffee, light spices, brown sugar. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Not my thing. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Sylvester on 03 Jan 2014 at 16:33 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Clear ruby color with minimum head. Spices and candy on the nose, some malts, pear, spices, slightly sweet with a dry bitter finish, almost burnt. Medium-light bodied, with thin mouthfeel and slightly creamy carbonation. Bit bland.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Albert Heijn, Culemborg. Clear light brown with an off-white head. Caramel aroma with some licorice and cinnamon. Sweet taste with a light bitter body. Pleasant spiced doppelbock.

30 cl. bottle. Winter 2011-2012. Pours a dark amber with a thin off-white head. Roasted malts dominate along with some caramel. Was expecting some more body judging the rich colour and alcohol percentage. Decent enough winterbrew

Bottle. Amber color. Herbal spicy aroma, caramel. Malty sweet flavor, caramel, anis, cinnamon. Sweet, spicy but well mannered. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Sylvester on 26 Aug 2019 at 12:08 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: From tap, Cafe Morshuis in Albergen. Sweet and rather alcoholic flavor. Butterscotch and a hint of cherry. Buttery with some pale ale-like hopbitterness. I liked the bottled version better, but that has sadly disappeared from the market. 2010 bottle, tasted feb 2011. Amber color. Maltaroma with cookie dough. malty sweet, doughy flavor with soft perfumed notes. Hints of alcohol. Not unpleasant, but lacks some character. Rating unchanged.
