Jet black brown with a rich light brown head. Sharp dark and hoppy nose. Bitter hops and light malts with a soft finish. More like a black IPA.

Almost black, thin head. Nose is mostly chocolatey. On the palate, starts chocolatey, picks up a little bitterness through the middle, the some burnt stuff in the finish. Overall the sweet chocolate does clash a bit with the burnt notes but it’s not bad.

Draught at the brewery
Black colour with brownish head. Strong roast in the nose, a bit of cardboard. The mouthfeel is very smooth, the sweetness is mild, lower than the average American Imperial Stout, hence the roasted malt and coffee seem to be more evident; light acidity from the dark malts.
Solid offer, on the roasty side for me.

Taster. Appearance: opaque brown with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malts and seeds, some coffee notes. Taste: along the same lines, quite roasty, a bit dry, black chocolate. Overall: good straight IS.

Muddy brown body and a bit of beige foam, sweet barley on the nose, chewy, not quite syrupy. Flavour is bright and sweet barley, chocolate syrup, coffee notes. Big and smooth alcohol is well hidden, they outdid themselves here.

On tap at Electric Bicycle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out deep roasted malt, with dry oats, and a hint of cocoa. Flavour is rich and robust, with heavy roasted malt, light earthy notes, hearty oats, and dry cocoa. Beautifully constructed, dry, roasted and deep. Damn, what the hell? This is excellent.
