Bottle split at Bodney Mansions, team purchase - thanks to Kenny for the legwork, 18/01/18. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is spice, herb, light roast, lemongrass, cocoa rub, dried berries, floral, perfume, faint coffee. Taste comprises sweet malts, spice, thai currry xauce suggestion, milk chocolate, herb, brown sugar. Medium bodied plus, fine carbonation,semi drying close with a mellow boosty rip. Decent fun impy but the herb and spice means I couldn't drink a whole amount of this.

Bottle shared at Bodney mansions. Thanks to Kenny for this whale. Pours jet black with a thin tan head. Aroma is lime, lemongrass, chilli and coconut. Taste is chocolate, lime, lemongrass and chilli. Really nice balance with the finish nice and spicy but mellowed out by the chocolate. Lovely stuff

Nice light brown slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, cinnamon, raisins, grass, sour-ish roasted grain, coffee, ginger, citrus, dark malts, hints of caramel and coconut. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, weeds, ginger, grass, cinnamon, bark, raisins, coffee, dark malts, fruit stones, hay, citrus, minerals, hints of coconut. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Nice, quite unusual.

Bottle 750ml. @ home. [ As AleSmith Speedway Stout - Thai ].Clear dark black brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, spicy, coconut, lime, basil, ginger. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, chocolate - roasted - coffee, coconut, basil ginger, lemongrass, chocolate. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20171116] 8-4-9-4-17

bottle. pitch dark, large brown head. roasted malts as usual, but also what seems to me to be coconut and green tea on top of the usuan alesmith aroma. coffee lower than normal, also raisins, if i didn't know i'd guess the coffee part had gone real bad and this was the result. flavor is roasted mals, coffee, sweet licorice, coconut. what a great way to destroy a speedway stout, not... however i do believe in experimentation so it's okay... but this abuse of the base beer makes it into something not so interesting.

Bottle from Mikkeller Bangkok, shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy, fairly short-lived tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, ginger, coriander, lime, lemongrass, sweet chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liqourice bitter with a silky smooth, dry malt, rich sweet spicy oily light warm alcoholic palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation.

On tap at the Beertemple. Very dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Notes of coconut, chocolate, smooth coffee, indeed a bit of citrus and herbal stuff, and cocoa nibs. Smooth texture, much like the other Speedway stouts, but the special ingredients in this one are hardly an improvement over the base beer.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma strikes with ginger and lime. Med++ body. Flavor is chocolate, dark treacle, lemongrass/lime combo and ginger. Ginger seems to be low on the pole. Heat isn’t apparent until ale hits the gullet. Really, really strong flavors which quickly seem subtle. It is excellent.
