Inspired by our brewers' love of the assertive, bright flavors of Thai ingredients, this intensely flavored brew incorporates the vibrant quality of several Thai-inspired ingredients into our classic imperial stout. Powerful notes of citrus, botanicals, and tropical fruit balance the stout's rich chocolate, caramel, and coffee character. The result is an amazingly flavorful and complex beer that pays tribute to the flavors of Thailand.

Draft @ Beer Temple. Black color. Beige frothy head with reasonable retention. Aroma's: lots of thai spices - lemongrass, lime, ginger, also sweetness, chocolate, ginger. Retronasal it's also like a thai curry-coffee, thai spices, sweetness, cocos. Flavor is full sweet. Full bodied. Long finish, chocolatey, spices. Nice!

Keg at the Star and Garter, Bromley. Black pour with a swiftly disappearing tan head. Nose of ginger, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon. Similar action in the flavour with a whisper of coffee. Sweet, spicy and malt laden finish. Excellent.

Thanks to 90! Sampled draft @ Gollem. Black, little head. Nose is extremely massive on spices, galangal, cloves, cardamom, low cinnamon, cloves & cardamom are massive almost bit more Indian than Thai, huge bitter roasted coffee as well. Taste is extreme cloves, cardamom, lower ginger, galangal, cinnamon, so heavy on the first two, coconut is virtually absent, finish is heavy on coffee. Very thick lovely creamy bodied. Very interesting heavy spice beer, not very Thai, more cloves, cardamom, ginger, all spice for me, the coconut is virtually absent sadly, lemongrass is absent :( as is lime :( basic used is Thai basil I assume, got some faint sage, rosemary feel in the back, maybe that? Coffee is big time. Seriously no chilli in the Thai version? So sadly no coconut, lemongrass, ginger etc. assault but still an interesting extremely spicy & oddly tasty RIS. (saw some Thai food stuff with basil included, I was wrong about that one).

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a black color with a medium sized fluffy brown head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet chocolate, coffee, vague spices, toasty malts and marshmallow. The flavor was sweet coffee, chocolate, cardamom, a touch of red wine and some booziness. Long finish of anise and cardamom. Thick, full and amazingly creamy. Outstanding.

(Keg at Sori Taproom, 20171005) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had lemongrass, fruitiness and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, coconut, fruitiness, burnt malts, coffee, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. An excellent brew messed up with spices. Why?
