On tap at Breakwater, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small beige head. Aroma is dry, with spicy rye, bready malt, and toasted malt. Flavour is dry, with lots of spicy rye, bready malt, and a hint of toasted nuts. Dry and malty, with just enough spiciness from the rye. Good stuff.

Sample at GABF 10/05/2019, thanks to kathryneels for assistance with note-taking. Dark amber-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Malt, rye and fruit aromas. Medium body with flavors of mildly spicy rye malt, fruit and earthy hop. The finish is malty with a rye and hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewery pours out dark amber topped with a sand head. Nose is nice rich rye malts some pine hops. Taste is more of the nice sweet rye malts and a nice hop combo.

Deep brown with a beige head. Malty, chocolate, bread, and some light sweetness. The rye isn’t very noticeable but slightly more so in the flavor than aroma. Finish is malt and a carbonated bite. Solid brown.
