Draft. Clear light gold body with a frothy, white head. Aroma of clove, banana, toasted grain, floral hops, light mustiness. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Light tartness in the finish. Mediocre Belgian golden ale, muddled flavors with light banana and clove taste and raw grain. Like dozens of American saison wannabes that aren’t.

Bottle: Beautiful appearance; hazy light golden/straw color with a finger of creamy off-white head. Fruity, yeast, earthy florals, and a light tartness make up the aroma. Loses most of the pizaz in the flavor; still a little tart, but much less of the earthy bits and fruity tones. Mostly yeast, really. I was almost convinced Tommyknocker had done something special here...

16 oz bottle - hazy gold, effervescent pour, lasting head - wheaty, yeasty, tangy aroma, with mild phenols and notes of pear - kind of smells more like a hefe - flavor starts off strong, with some wheat, mild tartness (bordering on sour), some earthy phenols, apple, yeast - falls apart halfway through, becoming watery as most of these flavors dissipate, leaving only bland malt and a moderate acidity - had promise at first, but ultimately lame.

Pint bottle from the brewpub. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Mild citrus/spice aromas. Near medium body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is citrus with some light spice, perhaps a bit of earthiness. Herby hop bitter. Citrus aftertaste. Somewhat earthy in the finish.
