12 oz. bottle. Pours dark orange with a small, beige head and bubbles lining the glass. The aroma is hickory, peat, honeysuckle, and bitter chocolate. The flavor is bitter from front to finish. The palate is medium to heavy, sticky, grainy, and very astringent. Overall, this is a hop forward and heavy IPA. Not bad.

pretty kick butt double IPA for the money - pretty unique too! Easy to drink for 8.5 abv.

bottle July 7, 2012 - Pours cloudy orange with a one finger head and an aroma dominated by grapefruit accented hops. It has a good, bitter flavor that’s balanced well between the grapefruit notes of the hops and the sweet malt backbone. It leads into the expected long bitter finish. It’s very good though nothing jumps out as being outstanding.

Bottle. Deep golden body. Fizzy white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, sweet malts, plastic. You know this is going to be a sweet beer at first sniff. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, sticky texture and moderate carbonation. The taste of mostly grapefruit and orange juice with a lingering bitterness. Easy drinking and pleasantly sweet. By far, best beer I’ve had from this brewery.

12 ounce bottle from Belmont Party Supply. Pours a clear amber with a thin tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of resin, earthy and minty hops with sticky malts. The taste is big citrus hops, fairly bitter, toasted malts and caramel. Some lingering bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty good.

On draught at the Lackman in Cincy. The beer is a clear reddish-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and bready malt. Medium to full body with a floral hops character with notes of caramel malt, citrus and grain. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

Golden with a thin white head. Pleasant citrus and earth hop notes, floral, sweet malts. Flavor is full of fruity, floral, citrus hops with a touch of earth. Light caramel malt in the back. FInishes with a bit of booze. Top-notch DIPA- could find this one at one of those fancy west coast breweries.

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a clear light golden hued body and a large, fluffy, just off-white head (bone hued). Good duration. Good lace. Aromas of hops up front, citrus, grapefruit rind, pine, light strawberry. Malt is strong (perhaps too much), caramel, sweet, bready, grainy, toffee, alcohol. Medium to light esters from the yeast. Light coconut notes. I think this is only 2 or 3 months old but seems a bit older than that. Malty sweet overall. Flavors of alcohol up front, a light tropical fruit note, medium to light bitterness. Finishes bready, biscuity and slightly sweet malty. Seems faded (actually it is exactly 3 months from packaging). Still pleasant but missing a hop edge. Light citrusy qualities. Alcohol is a bit too noticeable. Medium to slightly full bodied, medium to light carbonation. Decently dry finish. Slightly warming. Faded. Has a good potential, nice malt structure, good hope choice, but the fruity hop nature is only light at this point. Good balance. Sad to see such a quick fall off.
