On tap at Benelux, pours a deep dark muddy brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma is earthy, with crusty dry bread and a touch of molasses. Flavour is much the same, with an earthy, almost burnt malt character to this that is quite unique and fairly satisfying, followed by molasses, and a hint of caramelized brown sugar. A somewhat strange burnt character but I'm pretty happy with it. Good.

A dark clear reddish brown porter with a thn brown head. In aroma, a sweet herbaceous chocolate with light powdery off notes. In mouth, a sweet molassey and dry porter with strange roasted and herbaceous notes, a bit burned, not bad but was expecting more. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 14 2011.
