Brännland Ciders first vintage of barrel aged ice cider. Aged for 12 months on used Chablis barrel and released in a limited edition in June 2016. The positive effect of barrel aging on the ice cider has prompted Brännland Cider to increase barrel aging with coming vintages.

Thanks to Kraddel! Bottle sampled. Dark orange. Nose is massively sweet in a simple straightforward very sweet apple, huge sugar, very basic. Taste is massively sweet as in huge sweet sugar, very sugary sweet apple, some candy even, no booze, thick syrupy sugar. Very neat but felt a bit too basic not the greatest in the style for me but still great. Obv. 2013 Vintage.

Bottle @ Home. Pours golden, no head, some light lacings. Aroma of sweet apples, light tart apples, wood, little alcohol. Flavor is sweet, light tart, rich apples, wood, sweet dessert wine, little alcohol. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation, sweet and light tart finish with warming alcohol. 7-2-8-5-17. 190617

Bottle at John’s. Pours pale amber with no head. Aroma of apple, honey, vanilla and pear. Toward heavy sweetness, touch of sour. Medium body, sticky texture, no carbonation.

Bottle. Dark yellow colour. Powerfull nice apple aroma. Heavy swet strong apple flavor. Barrel nicely present. Long great finish. Creamy palate.

Bottle @ Højbjerg tasting. No head. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich apples, little wood, some alcohol and has a nice warming finish. Lovely and slightly acidic.

Bottle 2013, 11%. Clear golden with no head. Aroma is apple, fruit, rich, complex and a little apple peel. Flavour is apples, fruit, rich, complex, sugar and apple peel.
