Gamme Grande Cuvée. Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and you’ll enjoy it’s subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

10% bottle brought back from Canada shared at the Craft Beer Picnic. Pitch black pour with a creamy beige head. The nose is rich, umami, rich bready chocolate cake - very savoury. Med-full bodied with a lively sparkling carbonation. The taste is chocolatey, rich, you definitely get sweet syrupy chocolate smoke - wonderful. Honestly it wowed everyone who tasted it.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown, quasi black colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Rich and intense dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, roast, coffee, a roasty-herbal-spicy touch, even cautious hints of smoke. Taste is rather different: moderately sweet dark malty, chocolately, notes of dark cherries, cherry liquor, fruit in rum, a dry woody note and some bitter hop arrange for counterbalance; slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily texture, sticky palate. Astonishing discrepancy between aroma and taste; I wouldn’t mind to find more of those roasty and spicy flavours in taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is bready malt and plums. Medium mouthfeel with dark fruits, toast, with lingering dry finish. Good.

750 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black with small beige head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Flavour is sweet, slightly bitter with coffee, roasted malt, caramel and licorice. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

Recht süßer Malzantrunk, der sich leider noch verstärkt. Im Mittelteil wirkt das ganze dann schon zuckrig, leicht Vanille und Kaffee. Der Alkohol ist in der Nase zu vernehmen, minimal herb im Hintergrund. Schokoladig, likörartig. Zu süß! 8/9/8/9/12/9

Black colour with a frothy and creamy off-white head with medium duration and nice lacework. Aroma is dominated by roasted and toasted malts, strngo coffee notes and black chocolate. Flavor has notes of coffee beans, roasted malts, some ashes, licorice hints and roasted malts. The final has a good presence of coffee notes witha medium bitterness. Creamy and dense on palate, easy to drink in spite of the high ABV.

750ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkebraunes fast schwarzes Bier mit geringer aber schönen bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, fruchtig bitter. Geschmack sehr fruchtig röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade, im Hintergrund sehr angenehme Aromen von exotischen Früchten.

Sampled from bottle @ The Hague Tasting. Dark brownish mahogany red color, medium sized tan head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, caramel, slightly candy and overripe and dark fruits. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle at the "Lets celebrate the fact that Dean is already the Mayor of M&S Den Haag even though it’s only been open for 24 hours tasting!". Poured a dark mahogany colour with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is malt creamy caramel light fruit. The flavour is medium bitter moderate sweet with a creamy caramel fruity palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
