New England’s Original IPA | As enjoyable today as it was in ‘93, IPA is a regional favorite and a craft beer classic. Styled after an English IPA but brewed with distinctly American hops, it’s citrusy, refreshing, and perfectly balanced– as perfect on a Cape Cod beach as it is in a VT ski lodge or Boston dive bar.

Bottle (kindly delivered by joss!): Clear, golden, small off-white head; moderate to solid floral-hoppy nose with a sweet caramelly background; dry bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; hoppy, fruity and caramelly finish. Well rounded, easy-drinking IPA.....

(bottle, 35.5cl) Clear, golden colour with a short off-white frothy head. Fruity and flowery, also slightly woody hoppy aroma with a mildly sweet (cara-)malty background. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Pleasantly soft malty base with slightly fruity and floral hops, accompanied by a woody touch; bitter-sweet malty and rounded hoppy finish with a lasting fruity and woody aftertaste. Fine and rounded IPA. 08.XII.10

12 oz. bottle. Pours straw yellow with huge, foamy white head. Hop aroma, floral and touch of malty sweetness. Sweet malt start with moderate hop bitterness, and a touch of hop flavor. Dry, clean finish with a bitter after. A solid offering. I’m not a huge IPA drinker, but this is a good one.

Bottle. Mild caramelly aroma. Almost clear dark golden colour. Very small white head. Good caramelly flavour. Not overly much, but enough. Slightly high bitterness, clean. Well-balanced. A good IPA for beginners.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a yellow-golden color with a huge creamy yellow-white head that lingered and produced some lacing. The aroma was dry with a moderate grapefruit and pine element. The flavor was dry with a moderate grapefruit and lemon presence and a chalky and sour undertone. The finish was long, dry and hoppy. Medium body. Decent.

Draught at their Logan Airport Taproom. Nice American hop aroma, lots of pine, citrus, and grass. Light malt, but nice balance to show off the hops. A bit too gassy, but decent overall.

Purchased in Nashville on my trip there. Best by 08/15/10 printed on neck of the bottle. Pours a clean golden colour with a big white creamy head that stays a while and leaves a lot of lace. Beautiful Cascade hop nose. Crisp and dry mouthfeel. Not as bitter as expected, but the hop is on the tasty side. I would call this an easy-drinking hot summer day IPA.

Practice beer courtesy of nimbleprop, our generous host, thank you sir. Straightforward IPA, tasty enough, hoppy enough, without being overbearing. No complaints.
