(thanks for sharing!) Sampled draft @ The Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Day 1. Black. Far too alcoholic nose, harsh unbalanced booze / varnish. Taste is so bloody alcoholic too umami, roast, overkill, too harsh, low hazelnut in the back is a minor saving point.

Pigs Ear Fest. Cask. Opaque black - brown beer, a few tan bubbles. Smooth dark malts, some mild dark chocolate. Touch of licorice. Mild Port Wine like red berries. Light semi dry finish. Nice one, so much better than it’s little brother.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’16, 29/11/16. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is liquorice, spice, dark malts, dark fruit rinds, chocolate. Taste comprises rich fruit cake, sweet malts, biscuit, liquorice, black pepper, dates, cocoa powder. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok sipper if a little pedestrian for style and lacking depth overall.
