melon, mandarin, bright | America's favorite hop takes center stage in our house IPA. Not quite a hazy, not quite a west coast. This Citra bomb brings tangerine and honeydew with a playful amount of bitterness.

Taster at Pale Fire. Hazy golden pour, creamy white head. Hoppy aroma with light dank notes, caramel, toffee, citrus. Taste is caramel, hoppy, dry, sweet. Feels full but finishes quick.

Draft pour, pint, at Smoke & Barrel, DC. Poured a mostly clear yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was nice citrus notes - grapefruit, but not super bitter. Some juicy melon, pine resin. This was reatlly solid. Nice and juicy. Creamy. Great pale ale.

16 oz can from Growlers to Go - Short Pump. Pours a murky golden-orange with a nice, fizzy head. Not much on the way of lace. Has a big hop aroma, grapefruit and orange, some melon and mago notes as well. A bit of a pine note. Some dough / oat backbone. A bit of a fruity sweetness up-front, with a nice bitterness on the close. Clean, fairly dry finish. Nice mouthfeel. A very solid IPA.

Keg at Beer Run, 5/18/16. Hazy orange, thin foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, pale malt. The taste is mango, pineapple, mild lime, pale malt. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering bitterness.

A new local for me, pleasantly surprised. On tap at Spacebar, pours a hazy neon yellow with some soapy, lacing white head. Really enjoyed the nose, orange blossom, grass, perfume, tangerine, some pale grist. Flavor is sweet with malt and honey, floral, grassy too, mild herbs, muddled citrus. Finishes bitter and just a touch sweet but very drinkable, even with 85 IBUs.

Draft: Lemon, grapefruit, lillies, aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Grapefruit with lillies underneath. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. Very grapefruity, but doesn’t lack for complexity. Really nice.
