This is the third out of nine reindeers in our Christmas ales series. Comet was inspired by the story of Christmas and the Three Wise Men. We brewed this hoppy imperial red ale with Frankincense and Myrrh resin and actual 23 karat edible gold flakes. So sip slowly and enjoy the favors of this wonderful season.

Location: Draft at the Wicked Weed brewpub, 1/1/15

Aroma: This one has a caramel and pine aroma, some pale malts, and a little citrus
Appearance: It pours a mahogany red color, with minimal head and lace
Flavor: The flavor is similar, it is light sweet and has a pretty good amount of bitterness
Palate: This one has a smooth, medium body, a good mouthfeel, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one actually worked quite well. It just really hit the mark for me from a flavor perspective. Nice one.

Keg at the downstairs tasting room. Pours a clear red copper color with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, citrus, toffee, mild spice. The taste is toffee, stone fruit, spice, mild resin notes. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.
