Kong Krush was collaboratively brewed with An Bui from Mekong Restaurant in celebration of their 18th anniversary. Take one whiff of this and you can tell; you’re in for a treat. Loaded with Citra and Simcoe hops, Kong Krush leaves the nose and palate filled with citrusy notes of passion fruit, pineapple, and fresh melon. It’s dry and crisp finish make this beer extremely approachable. So in the words of An: 1, 2, 3...!!!

Location: Draft at Mekong, 5/2/14

Aroma: The aroma of this one is citrus/grapefruit hops, melon, and a little pine
Appearance: This one pours a murky orange color with an off-white head and plus lace
Flavor: The flavor is medium sweet, with a good malt presence, and a tropical hop finish
Palate: Medium bodied, leaning light for the style, with good drinkability, and a clean, dry finish
Overall Impression: I have to say, I enjoyed this beer quite a bit. This is a nice example of the style and leans a little more toward the drinkable side compared to some of it's higher ABV brethren. Worth trying for sure.

Growler shared by Willrunforbeer at RBNE gathering. Bright yellow color, large lasting head. Good lace. Aroma is dank as well as the flavor.

Flavor is pine, musty grassy, pith citrus rinds, light fruit, over ripe grapefruit and thick yeasty character. Chewy and sticky texture. Some lasting bitterness. Of course I maybe totally off; as at this point of the RBNE gathering I was rather drunk. Still glad I got it try this and I did enjoy it!
