Introducing the long-awaited return of Paradox Red Ale! We start with a rich base of caramel malts and Special B, known for its deep burnt sugar and raisin notes. Then, we add a touch of rye and a generous helping of Citra hops to bring it all together. The result? A perfectly crisp and balanced brew with a smooth, sessionable flavor that’s sure to satisfy.

Can to nonic glass
Appearance: dark red color with a one finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: nutty to caramel/toffee malts, earthy hops, lighter hop tone of clean grass
Flavor: in between bitter to bittersweet through the prior noted aromas; minor aftertaste of nuttiness and malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, clean along the tongue; finishes malty & nutty
Overall: I'd say a good red ale worthy of coming back to.

A hazed reddish amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet nutty malt with caramel notes, grassy hop. In mouth, a nice fruity malt with light grassy British hops, nice. On tap at brewery.

Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/26/14

Aroma: The aroma of this one has some clean bready malts, caramel, and hop notes
Appearance: Pours a clear reddish-orange color with a beige head and average lace
Flavor: The taste has a a nice, light-medium sweetness and some balancing bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a smooth, clean feel, and a soft-to-average carbonation
Overall Impression: I found this one to be a pretty tasty Red. It isn't some sort of crazy standout beer, but it is a really nice example of this style. Well done.
