Brewed with pure local molasses, our Porter delivers toasty malt, dark molasses and subtle vanilla bean that bring to mind homemade Pennsylvania Dutch shoo-fly pie.

Kind of awful. A bit vinagery, sweet and tart with no particular direction or flavour. Not good.

12 oz can, pours reddish brown clear with thinnish body. Vanilla and molasses predominate the aroma and taste, then the finish is sweet cloying malt.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and toasty with vanilla, molasses and nut notes. The flavor was sweet with toffee, molasses, nut and vanilla. Long finish. medium body. Solid.

Location: Draft at Hopsscotch, 1/17/14
Aroma: The nose is chocolate malts, roast, toast, molasses, and a little smoke
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a light brown head and a small ring of head
Flavor: The flavor is sweet and roasty, brown sugar, molasses, roast, and a little smoke
Palate: The body is medium, it has a somewhat creamy feel, and a medium dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought that this one was a pretty tasty porter. Pretty nice stuff, though there are some flaws present for sure, I enjoyed it.

Sampled on cask at Churchkey, Washington DC. Comes a nearly opaque, deep brown with ruby red edges and a frothy, creamy beige head. Aroma is... well, is there an aroma? I guess it smells sweet, a bit of dark toast some crackers. Flavor is nice, sweet, silky, toasted grains, bread, crackers, caramel. Nothing exemplary. Finish is dry and smooth. I didn’t get any molasses or any hop flavors. A big miss.
