330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 6.0%. Very dark brown colour, small off-white to beige head. Distinct aroma of sprucetips, bog myrtle / sweet gale and wild oregano, also notes of malts and caramel. Malty flavour but not too sweet, distinct notes of said herbs, a hint of liquorice.

At GBF, shared by the Belgian Ratebeer crew, cheers! Thin, lacing, off-white head over a more or less clear amberish bronze beer. Aroma of cloves, cinnamon, caramel, dried redcurrant, peach, dried spruce needles, anise - very herbal and spicy. Fruity onset, hints of dried fig and peach, caramelly and lightly nutty malt sweetish backbone, very aromatic retronasal, herbal spiciness, the wild majoram more obvious than the spruce, aniseed-like aromas as well, dried berry flavours lingering, softly bitterish but caramelly sweetness keeps prevailing. Typical old school, almost Belgian style spice beer, but fitting in well with this new Nordic cuisine thing where local herbs and spices are gathered from the environment and applied gastronomically. Quite alright, but spice beers aren’t really my personal cup of tea, I’m afraid.

Thank you for sharing RB Crew! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ GBF 2017. Dark brown amber. Nose is weird sweet star anis, cumin, sweet dark fruit, malt syrup, gin spices, very interesting & hard to pinpoint. Taste is heavy dark fruit syrup, almost blueberry with star anis, herbal syrup, cumin, faint cloves,… Unique spice character. Herbal cacao malt syrup body.

Bottle at home. One year old bottle. Has a hazy deep reddish brown colour with a huge khaki head. Spicy aroma of anise, oak, heather, forest floor, pine and some chocolate. More spices in the flavour along with roasted malt, rye bread, wild berries and oak. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light to medium bitterness. A spicy ale but is well balanced. Nice.
