Location: 750 ml bottle at Eleven Madison Park, 6/15/13, Rating #3030!

Aroma: It has a lot going on: bourbon, vanilla, spice, dark malts, roast, brown sugar, and oak
Appearance: Pours a dark brownish color with a slight red hue, and a lighter brown colored head
Flavor: The taste is rich and malty, with a smooth bourbon flavor, and some tasty oak as well
Palate: The body is full, with a smooth, rich mouthfeel, and just the right amount of heat
Overall Impression: Maybe it's the environment in which you are drinking it, maybe it's the quality of the beer itself, or maybe it's a combination, but this beer is absolutely world class. I have a hard time naming a barrel aged beer I enjoyed more, and I've had some really good ones. This was really really good.

The third beer in my pairing dinner at EMP. I was very surprised that they gave me entire bottle to drink. Anyways pours rich dark brown with great nose of caramel, vanilla, and bourbon. Tastes unreal of caramel, vanilla, cocoa, cola, earth and just the best bourbon richness. slightly boozy on finish and absolutely delicious

Bottle at Eleven Madison Park. Pours with a mostly clear (at first), reddish-brown hued body with a large and lasting tan head. Perfect lace. Aromas are of vanillin, earthy, rich spice, leather, sandalwood, brown sugar, candied dates, mild phenol and earth. Very complex marriage of subtle bourbon and dark belgian ale spice. Flavors showcase nothing short of an exceptional bourbon character! Nutty, brown sugar, coconut, vanillin, cocoa, cola, clove and complex wood. Melanoidins. Subdued yeast, peppery and raisin notes. Medium alcohol on the tongue, lasting complexity, nutty, fudge. Nice spice as it warms. Easy to drink (scary at the alcohol, bottle size and price). A touch thin and hot would be my only complaint of this beer. Very lively carbonation and warming. Excellent!
